Promix Technology originated from the Pierrepont family, a colossal industrial empire that evolved over the 20th century. During an era when society still idolized the communal strength of adventurers, Ms. Arianna Pierrepont, with her forward-looking vision, steered the declining Pierrepont family legacy toward the realm of technology. Though her ideas were largely unrecognized in 1993, they proved prophetic a century later, establishing the family as one of the rare survivors of the turbulent post-equilibrium era.
Years ago today, the precursor to Promix Technology was headquartered in the nation of Ilana. However, due to the country’s increasingly harsh winters and dwindling talent pool, the current leader, Aldricus Pierrepont, abandoned much of the nation’s land and population. He relocated the entire company and family westward from Ilana to a fabled floating utopia, which he named Promix Technology. This airborne sanctuary, he claimed, would never wither.
In the skies, the inhabitants revel in wealth and celebration. They, too, once struggled in the mire but have long forgotten their hardships amidst years of perpetual warmth and abundance. Meanwhile, the children on the ground look up at the heavens from the slums. No matter how far they reach, they remain consigned to the lowest tier of an artificially imposed hierarchy, their lives seemingly destined to be drained dry to fuel the endless energy needs of the floating elite.
However, like every dictator in history, the colossal airborne vessel of Promix Technology and the Pierrepont family ultimately succumbed to the overwhelming fury of the Ilana people. On this day in 2058, we witness the fall of arrogance.
Perhaps centuries from now, history books will offer a mixed verdict on Aldricus Pierrepont, praising his groundbreaking technological achievements and contributions to the fight against the core invasion while condemning his hubris. But there is no doubt that in the mouths of today’s people, all voices unite in celebration of his downfall—and the collapse of his floating city.
